What is lip enhancement?

Lip enhancement, also known as lip augmentation, can help treat the lip and mouth area whether you are troubled by unattractive smoker’s lines or lipstick bleed lines, thin lips, a downward smile or a less than defined cupid’s bow. Several lip enhancement treatments are offered at the Urban Aesthetix Clinic, such as HA fillers, medical chemical peels for the peri-oral area, and skin needling, to reduce fine lines and plump and define lips in a natural way – without the fear of trout pout.

Treatments may be combined for optimum lip enhancement results.

HA fillers consist of hyaluronic acid to rejuvenate the lip area by helping skin maintain its elasticity, tone and appearance. HA fillers are biocompatible and biodegradable; they are clinically approved and have been safely used for years worldwide.

Enerpeel® medical chemical peels can stimulate skin re-modelling to reduce fine lines and wrinkles in the lip area and plump up the lips, as well as boost collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production for a more youthful look.

Skin needling treatment with Dermapen™ is used for skin tightening, lifting and rejuvenation around the lip area, by stimulating the skin’s natural collagen production so that skin regenerates and repairs itself naturally.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why consider lip enhancement?

HA fillers can be used to temporarily soften and contour lines, folds, and wrinkles. For instance:

  • Mouth corners/ oral commissures/marionette lines: to treat ageing folds running down from the mouth angle
  • Perioral lines: to eliminate small vertical lines running from the lip border, sometimes called ‘smokers’ lines’ or ‘lipstick bleed lines’
  • Lip definition: to contour your lip and improve your cupid’s bow
  • Lip augmentation: to plump out lips subtly and naturally, avoiding trout pout.

Enerpeel® chemical peels have been specially formulated to treat specific skin conditions, such as the peri-oral area, with minimal downtime. For example:

  • Enerpeel® Lips: to reduce the appearance of smile lines and marionette lines at the corners of the mouth.

Dermapen™ skin needling is particularly ideal for hard to reach, delicate areas such as the lip area. It is used to treat:

  • Smoker’s lines: to treat lines around the eyes by stimulating the development of new collagen and elastin to improve skin texture, firmness and hydration.
